A new shareholder structure for the Gonet Geneva Open
Promoter of the Gonet Geneva Open, the ATP 250 tournament held at the Parc des Eaux-Vives since 2015, Geneva Trophy Promotion SARL has announced a new shareholder structure. Nicolas Gonet, who has also been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gonet & Cie SA since January 2023, has taken over the shares held by Ion Tiriac, who initiated the tournament in Geneva with Rainer Schüttler.
”This choice is an extension of my commitment to the tournament as the Banque Gonet has been its title sponsor since the 2021 edition,» emphasizes Nicolas Gonet. During the first four years of this partnership, I realized how important the Gonet Geneva Open is to the city’s social life, and how popular it is to the tennis fans. ”
Rainer Schüttler is delighted with his new partnership at the head of Geneva Trophy Promotion. Nicolas Gonet’s arrival strengthens the tournament’s foothold,” he says. Nicolas Gonet is a committed player in the Geneva business community. With his presence within Geneva Trophy Promotion, the Gonet Geneva Open really intends to be a long-term fixture, well beyond the ten-year milestone we’ll pass in 2025. ”
Since 2015, the Gonet Geneva Open has attracted high-profile players, including Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Casper Ruud, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Grigor Dimitrov and Ben Shelton. In 2024, the tournament was an unprecedented success, with all sessions sold out.
